Theorin Randle, Texas defensive lineman, commits to Washington State Cougars

Shadow Creek High School (Texas) defensive lineman Theorin Randle took his official visit to Washington State University on June 10 unsure about how he would be received.

The 6-foot-3, 265-pound versatile defensive lineman knew Washington State's coaching staff wanted him, but he didn't know if he'd feel like he belonged in Pullman so far from him.

Randle, was immediately re-assured, and Wednesday he announced his commitment to the Cougars over offers from Arkansas State, Memphis, Tulane, Wyoming and others. 

"I took and my official visit and the place was just right," Randle said. "I loved the coaches. The head coaches usually doesn't show defensive tackles that type of love, so that was big for me. Coach Jake Dickert just signed a five-year deal and that granted me stability. So, that’s just the place to be." 

While program stability under Dickert was a factor, Randle said he's grown close to several coaches on staff.

"Form the moment I walked into my head coach's office, me and (cornerback) coach Ray Brown connected," he said. "(Defensive tackles) coach (Pete) Kaligis was a big part, too. He just was real and straight up. Coach Dickert sealed the deal once we connected."

Randle is the 12th commitment in Washington State's 2023 recruiting class, which is the fourth-most in the Pac-12 Conference. Overall, the Cougar's class ranks No. 8 in the conference.
