The Oregon Ducks are set to clash with UCLA on Saturday in a top-10 matchup with the College Gameday crew in town.

That will give the Ducks a perfect platform to host recruiting visitors in the hopes of making an impression.

In some cases, it also means hosting key commitments to ensure they are locked in.

This week, Oregon pledge and Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep star Jerry Mixon, the cousin of Cincinnati Bengals star Joe Mixon, tweeted that he will be in Eugene this weekend:

The 6-foot-3, 220-pound athlete is a do-it-weapon for his high school team, playing running back, wide receiver and linebacker, but projects as a linebacker in Eugene.

Mixon is ranked the nation's No. 56 linebacker, making him a three-star prospect.

He committed to Oregon in mid-August, choosing the Ducks over UCLA, as well as offers from Arizona State, California and Missouri.

"I'm going to Oregon," he said. "I'm going there because I have great connections with the coaches and players. They bring a lot of talent in compete with the best."

Mixon's primary recruiter was Tosh Lupoi, who was a major asset in his recruitment.

"He's a Bay Area guy and a defensive coordinator," Mixon said. "He keeps it real."

Expect a ton of star-power to visit Eugene this weekend, including Mixon.
