Ellis Robinson IV visiting Miami; 5-star cornerback and Georgia pledge eager to see key matchup

IMG Academy (Florida) five-star cornerback Ellis Robinson IV is visiting Miami this weekend

The Miami Hurricanes are hosting an impressive list of visitors this weekend for their game against the Clemson Tigers.

But perhaps no recruit is more noteworthy than IMG Academy (Florida) five-star cornerback Ellis Robinson IV.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound defensive back is rated the nation's No. 3 overall prospect and No. 1 cornerback in the class of 2024.

Robinson IV has been committed to the Georgia Bulldogs since early February, but will arrive in Miami looking at one aspect of the Hurricanes, specifically.

"(I want) to see how well they face up against a top team in the ACC," he said.

Miami has had an uneven start to the season, going 4-2 with back-to-back losses to Georgia Tech and North Carolina.

So, while a big win over Clemson would certainly alter the season's momentum, it looks like it could pay major dividends on the recruiting trail.

Robinson IV will be watching.

Overall, Miami's 2024 recruiting class is ranked No. 10 nationally.

But the group still doesn't boast a five-star commitment.

Knowing Mario Cristobal, he and his staff will work tirelessly to change that.

They'll get a chance this weekend.
