Here are 10 athletes for your voting consideration

We have 10 athletes nominated this week for SBLive’s South Carolina High School Athlete of the Week from Dec. 24-30 and we ask you, the fans, to help decide who should indeed be the top athlete selected. Voting will conclude on Sunday, Jan. 7 at 11:59 p.m. and the winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Stetson Stacks, North, Boys Basketball

Stacks, a junior, posted three big games in the Orangeburg-Wilkinson Sweet 16 tournament. The 5-foot-10 guard poured in 28 points as the Eagles beat Ridgeland-Hardeeville 66-62 in the first round. He had 16 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the Eagles’ 75-53 loss to O-W in the semifinals. Stacks concluded the tournament by scoring 20 points to go along with 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals as the Eagles beat Calhoun County 75-60 for third place.

Isaiah Scott-Palacios, Greenwood Christian, Boys Basketball

He’s just a freshman but the 6-foot-1 guard continues to make a big impact. Scott-Palacios scored 17 points as the Hawks swamped Ninety-Six 63-28 in the first round of the Lakelands FCA Tournament. He posted 25 points in the Hawks’ 70-67 come-from-behind win over Emerald in the third-place game.

Josh Leonard, Wilson, Boys Basketball

Leonard scored 25 points to lead the Tigers past Marion 61-55 in the third-place game of the 37th Pepsi Carolina Classic at West Florence.

Autumn Joseph, Darlington, Girls Basketball

Joseph scored 19 points in a 50-48 overtime win against Oceanside Collegiate Academy.

Korrie Corbett, Ridge View, Boys Basketball

Corbett, a 6-foot-4 sophomore forward, scored 27 points as Ridge View took a 64-59 win over River Bluff in the Chick-fil-A Classic.

Victoria Morris, South Pointe, Girls Basketball

The 5-foot-10 senior forward scored 20 points while getting 14 rebounds and 8 steals as the Bulldogs powered past Hammond School 73-34 in the Skyhawk Holiday Classic. Morris, who is averaging 16.8 points per game, also had 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals in a 90-23 romp over Eau Claire.

Tacoya Heyward, Bluffton, Girls Basketball

Heyward had a superb all-around game in the Bobcats’ 56-22 romp over Forsyth Central (Ga.). The 5-foot-9 senior had 12 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 9 steals.

Aveion Walker, Denmark-Olar, Girls Basketball

Walker scored 16 points as the Vikings beat White Knoll 44-31 to win the Blackville-Hilda Christmas Tournament. The 5-foot-8 junior was named tournament MVP. She leads the Vikings with 13.9 points and 9.3 rebounds a game.

J.J. Peace, Cane Bay, Boys Wrestling

Peace, a junior, is South Carolina’s top-ranked 5-A wrestler at 126 pounds. He is the three-time defending state champion and won the 113-pound class in the 2023 junior nationals.

A.J. DeLaCruz, West-Oak, Boys Wrestling

DeLaCruz, a sophomore, is the No. 1-ranked 120-pounder in 3-A. He won the 2023 state championship at 106 pounds.
