SAN ANTONIO, Texas - LaMarcus Penigar put on a show in the UIL 2A boys basketball state championship game.
Penigar, a senior guard, scored 41 points in 27 minutes, leading Clarendon to a 65-51 victory over previously undefeated Lipan in the 2A Texas state title game on Saturday afternoon at the Alamodome.
It's the second consecutive state championship for Clarendon (31-2) and head coach Boston Hudson.
Penigar was named the 2A State MVP after finishing with 41 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. He's the first player to score more than 40 points in a 2A state tournament game since Frankston's Jimmy Moore in 1964.
