ROUND ROCK, Texas - Griffin Herring threw a complete-game gem to lead Southlake Carroll over Fort Bend Ridge Point 6-1 on Friday night in the Texas (UIL) Class 6A state baseball semifinal at Dell Diamond.

Herring held Ridge Point hitless until the fifth inning when he allowed a lead-off single to left field. For the game, Herring gave up four hits and had 13 strikeouts.

The Dragons, who improved to 33-8 overall, will face the winner of Friday's other 6A semifinal matchup - Rockwall Heath (35-6) vs. San Antonio Reagan (32-6-2) - on Saturday night.
