The Associated Press has named Kamiakin senior Oumou Toure and Kelso senior Shaw Anderson the 2019 3A Washington high school state basketball players of the year. Toure was also named the all-classification player of the year by the AP.

Toure, a Butler signee, led Kamiakin to a third-place finish in the 2019 3A state tournament. The 5-foot-11-inch senior guard, whose Braves went 24-3, became Kamiakin’s leading scorer as a junior.

Anderson was unstoppable at the 2019 3A state tournament, breaking the tournament scoring record by pouring in 122 points over four games, including 39 vs. Marysville-Pilchuck in the fourth-place game. Anderson, a 6-5 wing, will play for Seattle Pacific next season.
