Bauer hockey buys Cascade Sports, manufacturer of Messier M11 helmet

Hockey equipment giant Bauer has purchased Cascade Sports. Cascade Sports is a leading producer of lacrosse helmets and eyemasks, but is also the manufacturer of The Messier Project M11 helmet, which was the brainchild of Hockey Hall of Famer Mark Messier.

Bauer will continue to manufacture the line of helmets and will retain Messier as a spokesman for the company. Among the NHL players who wear the Messier helmet are Los Angeles Kings defenseman and Stanley Cup winner Willie Mitchell.
