ABBOTSFORD, B.C. - Tyler Beskorowany added to the Abbotsford Heat's offensive woes.

Beskorowany turned aside 35 shots for his first shutout of the season as the Texas Stars blanked the Heat 3-0 in American Hockey League action Friday night.

"It's disgusting actually, we've got three goals in six games," said Heat head coach Jim Playfair. "Obviously our goal scorers aren't working hard enough to score goals.

"It's simple we haven't worked hard enough."

Fabian Brunnstrom opened the scoring 57 seconds in as he put home the rebound off of Travis Morin’s shot for his eighth of the season.

Just past the halfway mark of the first Raymond Sawada poked a loose puck past Heat starter Leland Irving for his seventh of the season.

"It feels pretty good obviously, we've been middle of the pack for most of the year," Sawada said. "With the playoffs coming up in the next couple months it's good to get the points now so we can hopefully be in a good position come February."

Despite out-shooting the Stars 14-5 in the first the Heat (16-16-4) could not solve Beskorowany.

Ryan Stone had Abbotsford’s best chance in the second period as he rang one the puck off the crossbar with a wrist shot.

Texas (21-11-4) outshot Abbotsford 14-4 in the middle frame, and had a 5-on-3 power play for 29-seconds, but could not add to its lead.

"We just kept to our systems, we knew Abbotsford would be finishing their checks and we used that to our advantage chipping pucks by," Sawada said. "We just kept things simple and got pucks to the net."

Mathieu Tousignant added an empty netter with just seven seconds remaining in the third.

Irving made 21 saves as the Heat lost their fifth in a row.
