CHICAGO - The Chicago Blackhawks added some depth to their blue-line before the NHL-mandated trade freeze.

The Blackhawks acquired defencemen Kim Johnsson and prospect Nick Leddy from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for defenceman Cam Barker.

Johnsson has six goals and eight assists with the Wild this season - his 10th in the NHL. He has 281 points with the New York Rangers, Philadelphia, and Minnesota.

Leddy - a 16th overall selection in last spring's NHL draft by Minnesota - has a goal and four assists in 19 games this season as a freshman at the University of Minnesota.

Barker has played all five seasons in Chicago, compiling 80 points (17 goals, 63 assists) in 200 regular-season games.

The Winnipeg native posted four goals and 10 assists in 51 games this year.
