COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Blue Jackets activated centre Jiri Novotny off injured reserve on Wednesday after he missed eight games with a concussion.

Novotny suffered a concussion in a 4-0 win at Minnesota on Nov. 23. Novotny collided with Aaron Voros as the Wild left-winger left the penalty box.

Novotny, a 24-year-old native of Pelhrimov, Czech Republic, has four goals and six assists in 22 games this season.

He has 12 goals and 20 assists in 104 career NHL games with the Buffalo Sabres, Washington Capitals and Blue Jackets. He signed as free agent with Columbus last summer.
