Blue Jackets activate D Marc Methot and put F Fredrik Modin on injured reserve

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed forward Fredrik Modin on injured reserve retroactive to Jan. 7 and activated defenceman Marc Methot.

General manager Scott Howson announced the moves on Monday.

Modin has missed the past five games after injuring his foot at Edmonton. He had already missed most of the season due to a knee injury and has one goal and one assist in 14 games this season.

Methot missed the last 12 games since injuring a shoulder at Dallas on Dec. 23. In 31 games this season, he has a goal and three assists.
