Bruins name Ramsay, Ward as assistants to round out coaching staff

Ramsay spent the past seven seasons as the associate head coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Under Ramsay and head coach John Tortorella, the Lightning won the Stanley Cup in 2004.

Ramsay also enjoyed a 14-year playing career with the Buffalo Sabres, recording 672 points (252 goals, 420 assists) in 1,070 career games. He won the Frank J. Selke Trophy as the NHL's top defensive forward in 1985.

Ward had returned to his job as head coach of the Edmonton Oilers' American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield last May after spending the 2006-07 season with Iserlohn of the German Hockey League. Ward had spent five seasons as head coach of Edmonton's AHL affiliates, taking over for Julien when he was named head coach of the Montreal Canadiens in 2003.

Ward led the Hamilton Bulldogs to the 2003 Calder Cup final, where they lost in seven games to the Houston Aeros.
