Byfuglien, Havlat score twice each for Blackhawks in 7-4 win over Avs

DENVER - Dustin Byfuglien and Martin Havlat both scored two goals, and Patrick Kane added three assists as the Chicago Blackhawks beat the Colorado Avalanche 7-4 on Friday night in a pre-season game.

Dave Bolland, Brent Seabrook and Patrick Sharp also scored for the Blackhawks. Cristobal Huet stopped 16 shots.

David Jones and Paul Stastny scored two goals each for Colorado (3-1-1).

Seabrook's goal midway through the second period gave the Blackhawks a 4-3 lead. Sharp, Byfuglien and Havlat scored in the third period for Chicago (5-1-1). Havlat's second goal of the game was into an empty net with 42.6 seconds remaining.

Sharp has a team-high five goals during the pre-season, while Kane has eight assists.

Andrew Raycroft had a rough night in goal, giving up six goals on 23 shots.

T.J. Hensick of the Avalanche took a stick to the face in the first period, scratching the cornea in his eye. He didn't return to the game. Hensick has two goals and three assists in the pre-season.

Colorado captain Joe Sakic was given the night off. He has three assists in the pre-season as he prepares for his 20th NHL season. Sakic enters the regular season needing 28 assists to pass Mario Lemieux (1,033) for 10th place on the career list.

The Blackhawks and Avalanche wrap up their pre-season schedules against each other Sunday night in Chicago.
