University of New Hampshire goaltender Casey DeSmith was arrested this past weekend on domestic assault and resisting arrest charges after a woman accused him of attacking her during the school's annual move-in.

According to The New Hampshire (the school's paper) and Foster's Daily Democrat, DeSmith was arrested after a woman accused him of jumping on top of her, then punching and spitting on her. When police responded to the call, they believed the netminder to be intoxicated and he had to be wrestled to the ground when they attempted to arrest him.

DeSmith, who was entering his senior season with the Wildcats, has been suspended from the team until further investigation. The 23-year-old is a native of New Hampshire who played in the United States League for Indiana before his college career. He has registered a save percentage of .920 or better in all three seasons at UNH.

While there is no connection between the cases, this is the third major incident involving a Hockey East school in a short period of time. Ryan Lomberg of the Maine Black Bears was arrested on assault charges earlier this year, while Boston University went through a grievous scandal involving sexual assault arrests and drinking that led to a scathing 2012 report on the "culture of sexual entitlement" surrounding the team.
