Columbus Blue Jackets add AHLers Derrick Walser and Tomas Popperle

The team also assigned goaltender Dan LaCosta to the Crunch. The Blue Jackets have been hit hard with injuries heading into their final week of the season, losing defenceman Ole-Kristian Tollefsen to a hip pointer on Sunday.

Walser appeared in six games with Columbus this season, scoring two goals. He has eight goals and 21 assists in 88 NHL games. He was acquired in a trade with Carolina on Nov. 29.

Popperle made his NHL debut on Feb. 2 at Calgary, stopping seven of eight shots in relief of Ty Conklin. He has a 24-17-4 record with a 2.85 goals-against average for Syracuse.
