Columbus Blue Jackets centre Derek MacKenzie activated off injured list

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Blue Jackets activated centre Derek MacKenzie off the injured list Thursday.

MacKenzie, 29, missed eight games after injuring his lower body against the New York Rangers on Dec. 11.

He has two goals and three assists in 23 games with the Blue Jackets this season. He has five goals and eight assists in 87 career games with Atlanta and Columbus.

General manager Scott Howson announced the move Thursday.
