Columbus Blue Jackets place centre Novotny on injured reserve

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Blue Jackets put centre Jiri Novotny on injured reserve Wednesday after he suffered a concussion against Minnesota.

Novotny was injured when he collided with the Wild's Aaron Voros late in Friday's game. Novotny has four goals and six assists in 22 games this season.

The Blue Jackets recalled defenceman Marc Methot from their AHL affiliate and added goaltender Tomas Popperle to the roster.

Methot has two goals and an assist in 20 games with the Syracuse Crunch this season. Popperle is 5-8 with a 3.30 goals-against average.
