Syracuse (8-18-0-1) took an early lead on a power-play goal by Geoff Platt late in the first period.

Locke helped set up Matt D'Agostini on the power play that tied the game late in the second period before Locke gave Hamilton (17-10-0-1) the lead for good with just over a minute left in the period.

Jean-Philippe Cote increased the Hamilton lead five minutes into the third while Locke assisted on Mathieu Biron's power-play goal to close out the games scoring halfway through the period.

Jaroslav Halak made 28 saves in the win while Tomas Popperle had 30 for Syracuse in the loss.

Crunch president and CEO Howard Dolgon and Onondaga County announced a new lease deal that was reached just before the start of the game. It will keep the team in Syracuse at least five more years and feature major renovations for the fading Onondaga County War Memorial.
