Detroit Red Wings recall forward Ville Leino from Grand Rapids Griffins

DETROIT - The Detroit Red Wings recalled Finnish forward Ville Leino from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Thursday.

Leino, 25, was the Griffins' second-leading scorer with 37 points in 44 games. He had six points in eight exhibition games for Detroit.

The Red Wings signed Leino as a free agent May 10 after he played for Jokerit in the Finnish Elite League.
