EA simulation projects Chicago Wolves to win AHL's Calder Cup

Publish date:

A simulation by EA Sports predicts the Chicago Wolves will beat the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in seven games to win the American Hockey League's Calder Cup.

Jason Krog's four-point performance in Game 7 helped the Wolves capture the championship and earn him the Jack A. Butterfield Trophy as playoff MVP in the simulation.

According to the simulation, the Wolves reached the final by knocking out the Toronto Marlies in six games in the Western Conference final while the Penguins needed six games to eliminate the Portland Pirates in the Eastern Conference final.

The actual AHL conference finals were set to open Wednesday night, with Portland visiting Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for Game 1.

Toronto visits Chicago in their series opener Friday.
