PEORIA, Ill. - Lars Eller and Aaron Palushaj each scored a goal and two assists as the Peoria Rivermen sunk the Manitoba Moose 7-1 on Friday night in the AHL.

On a 6-on-5 delayed penalty situation, the Rivermen opened the scoring when Derek Armstrong jammed the puck behind the goal line to take a 1-0 lead at 9:32.

Peoria collected a second goal when Palushaj's initial shot was stopped by Cory Schneider's right goal post, but Eller slapped the loose rebound in at 15:47.

At 6:54 a defensive turnover in the Manitoba zone allowed Barry Tallackson to go 1-on-1 with Schneider to put his club up by three.

Just after the midway point, Julian Talbot hit the back of the net with a wrist shot for a 4-0 lead.

The Rivermen extended their lead on the power play when Palushaj tipped a rebound in between Schneider's legs for a five-goal lead at 16:21 of the second.

Anthony Paluso made it 6-0 at 3:48 into the third period.

Manitoba finally broke their goose-egg at on the power play at 8:30. Brain Salcido sniped the puck under Bishop's shoulder to erase any shutout possibility for Peoria, 6-1.

The Rivermen answered right back, however, when Ryan Reaves completed Derek Armstrong's initial slap shot, 7-1.

Goaltenders Schneider and Daren Machesney combined for 27 saves in the loss.
