Erik Condra goes down hard after Jamie McBain slash to the groin
Be warned: this is going to hurt to watch.
During Thursday evening’s game between the Kings and Senators, Los Angeles blueliner Jamie McBain was exiting the Ottawa zone with Erik Condra coming towards him. Condra, with no stick, was simply making room for Ottawa to exit the zone when he caught a slash to what color commentator Jamie McLennan called the, “center of gravity area.”
Suffice to say Condra went down in a heap after receiving the chop to the groin.
McBain was handed two minutes for slashing on the play and Condra, well, his face following the slash tells the whole story. Once he picked himself off the ice, he skated gingerly to the bench.
Coincidentally, the slash was McBain’s second straight minor penalty of the game, his first coming when he held Condra less than three minutes into the second period. Thankfully, Condra was able to take the ice for his next shift and remained in the game for the rest of the night. Even still, though, that had to hurt.
