Having played for both the Rangers and Isles, do you have a different view of the rivalry now?

- John Podolski, Bellmore, N.Y.

Not really, no. Both teams get jacked up for the game and the fans get riled. It’s just as heated on both sides and it was pretty special to be a part of that.

What was the biggest surprise for you when you became Alex Ovechkin’s teammate?

- Sarah Parrott, Stone Mountain, Ga.

How hard his shot was. I had only played against him a couple times before I came here, but his wrist shot is harder than a lot of guys’ slapshot.

How hard was it moving to D.C. and playing for a new team?

- Katie Ebner, Washington, D.C.

The transition was easy. The team welcomed me with open arms and it’s similar to Long Island here; it’s a small city.

How have the feelings in the locker room changed over the season and are there any players who have really stood out as being vital to keeping the momentum going since Bruce Boudreau took over?

- James Finney, Lubbock, Texas

We have a new mindset. We’re more aggressive and assertive on teams. We force them to make mistakes and take the game to them instead of waiting back and letting the game come to us. Ovechkin, day in and day out, has been a special player. He could be the best ever.

Having followed you from your college days, I wanted to ask what the difference between Division I college hockey is compared to the NHL? Be it speed, less time to react, etc.

- Scott Khachadourian, Boston, Mass.

The speed and quickness is definitely different, but guys also think quicker. Plus, in college a team might have one or two good lines; here there are always four.
