Goldie scores twice, Bridges stops 43 as Salmon Kings tame Ice Dogs 3-1

Bridges made 20 saves in the first period as the Salmon Kings took a 2-0 advantage. Goldie opened the scoring 8:36 into the match when Ryan Wade sent him in on a breakaway for his 23rd goal of the season.

Victoria captain Kiel McLeod increased the advantage to two when he tucked it under the left pad of Ice Dogs goalie Mike Brown with a minute remaining before the first intermission.

Brandon Schwartz's power-play goal at 12:07 of the third period brought Long Beach (12-23-0-2) to within 2-1, but Goldie would score into an empty net in the final minute to seal the win.

Victoria (15-26-0-1) did not convert on any of their four power-play chances while Long Beach was 1-for-4 with the man advantage.
