BOSTON BRUINS-Signed general manager Peter Chiarelli to a contract extension.
CAROLINA HURRICANES-Agreed to terms with coach Paul Maurice on a multiyear contract. Announced Ron Francis will return as associate head coach and take on the title of director of player personnel.
OTTAWA SENATORS-Announced president and CEO Roy Mlakar will leave effective June 30. Promoted chief operating officer Cyril Leeder to president. Named Erin Crowe executive vice-president and chief financial officer. Announced general manager Bryan Murray will add executive vice-president to his duties.
PHILADELPHIA FLYERS-Announced the retirement of D Derian Hatcher and named him player development coach.
