NHL-Announced the German Ice Hockey League's suspension of New York Islanders D Todd Simpson will be honored through the conclusion of the 2006-07 regular season.

ANAHEIM DUCKS-Recalled C Mark Hartigan from Portland (AHL). Assigned C Tim Brent to Portland.

CAROLINA HURRICANES-Signed C Nicolas Blanchard to a three-year contract and assigned him to Albany (AHL).

COLORADO AVALANCHE-Signed F Chris Stewart to a three-year contract and assigned him to Albany (AHL).

COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS-Recalled D Derrick Walser and G Tomas Popperle on emergency recall from Syracuse (AHL). Assigned G Dan LaCosta to Syracuse.

OTTAWA SENATORS-Announced C Cody Bass will report to Binghamton (AHL) for the remainder of the season.

HAMILTON BULLDOGS-Announced Montreal (NHL) reassigned F Jimmy Bonneau to Cincinnati (ECHL).

MANITOBA MOOSE-Assigned D Patrick Coulombe to Victoria (ECHL).

WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON PENGUINS-Announced LW Jean-Francois Jacques has been assigned to the team by Edmonton (NHL).


ECHL-Suspended Florida LW Dan Baum three games and fined him an undisclosed amount for inappropriate comments made to an opposing player during a March 31 game at Texas. Suspended Alaska D Zack Fitzgerald, Alaska C Julian Talbot and Las Vegas LW Ryan Donally one game, Las Vegas LW Shawn Limpright and Alaska D Peter Metcalf two games and Alaska D Steven Later three games, and fined Fitzgerald, Limpright, Metcalf and Later undisclosed amounts for their actions in a Mar. 31 game at Las Vegas.

PHOENIX ROADRUNNERS-Announced G Mike Morrison has been assigned to the team from San Antonio (AHL).

READING ROYALS-Announced Binghamton (AHL) assigned F Kevin Saurette and F Shawn Collymore to the team.
