Hossa should be cheered, not jeered

I am astonished at the reams of criticism that have been leveled at Marian Hossa since his signing with the Wings.

Given the complete greedfest that professional sports have become, how refreshing to find someone who is willing to take millions - yes, millions - less to play for a team whose philosophy and work ethic he appreciates.

Does the naysaying emanate from those who whine and groan that, now that a premier player has done the unthinkable, they must lower their astronomical asking prices and contract demands? Boo-hoo.

Lowering the salary bar to elevate the competitive bar: what a concept.

You people who don't get that obviously propound the "break the bank, ruin the sport" dictum.

For shame.
