Hurricanes Patrick Eaves to have shoulder surgery, will miss up to 3 weeks

RALEIGH, N.C. - Carolina Hurricanes right-winger Patrick Eaves will miss up to three weeks with a left shoulder injury.

The Southeast Division leaders said Thursday that Eaves would undergo surgery Friday. Eaves missed the Hurricanes' 3-2 shootout loss Tuesday to Washington with the flu.

He has one goal and four assists since Carolina acquired him from Ottawa two months ago in the deal that sent Mike Commodore and Cory Stillman to the Senators.
