TAMPA, Fla. - Tampa Bay Lightning starting goalie Mike Smith was scratched from Tuesday night's game against Florida due to a left knee injury.

Smith was hurt in practice Monday. The team was expected to update his status late Tuesday. Backup Karri Ramo was scheduled to start against the Panthers.

The Lightning recalled Jonathan Boutin from Norfolk of the American Hockey League on an emergency basis.

Tampa Bay also put goalie Marc Denis on recall waivers. If he clears waivers, Denis will replace Boutin on the roster until Smith returns.
