SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Sharks have promoted longtime executive Joe Will to assistant general manager.

The team announced the move Saturday. Will will work with vice-president and assistant general manager Wayne Thomas and report to general manager Doug Wilson.

Wilson says Will has been an integral part of the organization for years and he is deserving of the promotion.

Will has been director of hockey operations the past six years and was previously an assistant to the general manager. Will joined the Sharks franchise at the team's inception in July 1990 and previously served as scouting co-ordinator.
