Lucky fan will get chance to shoot for a million at NHL game on Dec. 27

The network announced Tuesday that one lucky fan will get a chance to win $1 million as part of the Chevy Silverado Million Dollar Shootout. The event will air live on the network during the first intermission of the Dec. 27 NHL game in Vancouver between the Canucks and Calgary Flames.

The contest winner will have 24 seconds to shoot 20 pucks into an open net from the far blue-line. A one-time payout of $1 million would be made if 15 or more goals are scored within the allotted time.

Fans can enter the contest at TSN's website ( There will also be secondary contests during the intermission where 2007 Chevy Silverado trucks could be given away.

Last week, Bill Szijarto of Port Robinson, Ont., missed a 50-yard field goal attempt in the Wendy's Kick for a Million contest at halftime of the Toronto Argonauts-Saskatchewan Roughriders game.

His name was randomly drawn from 1.5 million entries.

Brian Diesbourg of Belle River, Ont., split the uprights from 50 yards out to capture the $1-million stipend in last year's inaugural contest.
