VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) -- Vancouver Canucks

goaltender Roberto Luongo will try and make it three straight

shutouts when his club hosts the Minnesota Wild on Saturday.

Luongo, who leads the league with four shutouts, has blanked

back-to-back opponents this week, totaling 54 saves in the two

wins.

The 29-year-old made 24 stops in Tuesday's 4-0 victory over

Nashville and then turned aside 28 shots in Thursday's 1-0

triumph over Phoenix.

It is the first time the netminder has recorded consecutive

shutouts since he set the franchise record last season with

three straight from November 25-29. That scoreless streak

totaled 210 minutes, 34 seconds.

Minnesota is playing the final contest of a four-game road trip.

Niklas Backstrom made 35 saves as the Wild posted a 3-1 victory

over the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday.

The Wild won five of the last six meetings with the Canucks last

season.
