Marcus Nilson returns to Sweden after getting released from tryout by Devils

NEWARK, N.J. - Veteran forward Marcus Nilson is heading back to Sweden after being released from his professional tryout by the New Jersey Devils.

Nilson was one of three players sent home from training camp on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old winger last played in the NHL with the Calgary Flames in 2007-08.

In 521 career regular-season games with Florida and Calgary, he had 67 goals and 168 points.

Nilson spent last season with Djurgardens in the Swedish Elite league.
