Michael Leighton stops 20 as Adirondack Phantoms shut out Hamilton Bulldogs 4-0

HAMILTON - Michael Leighton stopped 20 shots as the Adirondack Phantoms shut out the Hamilton Bulldogs 4-0 in American Hockey League play Saturday.

Denis Hamel scored a hat trick for Adirondack (16-30-5), while Mike Testwuide added a single.

It was Leighton's first shutout in the AHL since being sent down from the Philadelphia Flyers in January. Leighton led the Flyers to the Stanley Cup final last season where they were eventually defeated by Chicago.

Curtis Sanford made 15 saves in the loss for Hamilton (28-16-5).
