ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Minnesota Wild have placed centre Andrew Ebbett on injured reserve because of a concussion.

Ebbett was injured last week in Phoenix against the Coyotes. The Wild have been hit by a rash of concussions this season. Forwards Petr Sykora and Pierre-Marc Bouchard and defenceman Brent Burns also are missing time because of the injury.

Ebbett has given the Wild a boost since being acquired on waivers from Chicago in November. He has three goals in seven games with the team.

The Wild also reassigned centre Nathan Smith to their AHL affiliate in Houston on Monday.
