ST. PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota Wild centre Krys Kolanos was waived Wednesday, and the team recalled forward Peter Olvecky from its AHL affiliate in Houston.

If Kolanos isn't claimed by another club, he'll be sent to the AHL for a fourth time this season. The 27-year-old Kolanos had only one goal and two assists in 11 games in January.

Olvecky was a third-round draft pick in 2004. He's from Trencin, Slovakia, the same hometown as star right-winger Marian Gaborik, but has never appeared in the NHL. Olvecky had six goals and 17 assists in 41 games for the Aeros.
