I had the privilege of taking in more than my fair share of Olympic matches in Vancouver and I have to say that my most profound moment in all the madness was watching Pierre McGuire interact with fans during his pre-game preparations.

He would consistently and with enthusiasm emerge from his loneliest spot on the ice, between the benches, to chat with anyone who knocked on the glass by his fortress of solitude.

You're a monster, Pierre! Thanks for inspiring and perspiring for the love of the game.
