Just days after St. Louis Blues captain David Backes announced the formation of his Athletes for Animals program, the Boston Bruins are showing some love for the four-legged community.

On Thursday they released their Pucks & Pups calendar, which features photos of Bruins players and management with their pets or with adoptable dogs from the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

The Bruins who took part are players Johnny Boychuk (pictured above with with his dog Kola), Gregory Campbell, Zdeno Chara, Jarome Iginla, Chris Kelly, Milan Lucic, Brad Marchand, Daniel Paille, Tuukka Rask, Dennis Seidenberg and Shawn Thornton; Bruins principal Charlie Jacobs; president Cam Neely; GM Peter Chiarelli and coach Claude Julien.

The calendar costs $20 with the proceeds going to the Boston Bruins Foundation with a donation made to the MSPCA. It will be available at the team pro shop or at the TD Garden starting Friday or online at bostonbruins.com/pucksandpaws.
