Niedermayer, Lidstrom top Western Conference all-star vote-getters

Niedermayer has received 329,657 votes so far, roughly 12,000 more than Lidstrom. Colorado Avalanche forward Joe Sakic is third in voting with 260,397.

The voting has been conducted through the NHL's website. Fans will choose six Eastern Conference all-stars and six Western Conference all-stars: three forwards, two defencemen and one goaltender for each team.

Niedermayer and Lidstrom lead all defencemen in votes.

The top forwards are Sakic, San Jose Sharks centre Joe Thornton (245,083) and Chicago Blackhawks winger Martin Havlat (183,953).

Marty Turco of the Dallas Stars leads all goaltenders in votes with 226,724.
