Norrena, Blue Jackets eye second straight win

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Ticker) -- Fredrik Norrena finally managed to

earn a win for the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Norrena looks to make it two in a row on Saturday, when the Blue

Jackets host the Chicago Blackhawks.

Columbus has been without starting goaltender Pascal Leclaire,

who was placed on injured reserve Monday after suffering an

ankle injury in a 2-1 loss to Minnesota on October 25. Leclaire

also dealt with a sprained ankle during the preseason.

Norrena suffered the loss against the Wild before enduring a 3-2

setback to the Anaheim Ducks on Monday. The 34-year-old finally

ended the slide on Thursday, making 30 saves en route to his

first win of the season, a 4-2 triumph over Colorado.

Norrena will have to be at his best against the Blackhawks, who

rank eighth in the NHL with an average of 3.2 goals per game and

are coming off a 5-2 rout of the Dallas Stars on Friday.

Chicago is 3-1-2 since Joel Quenneville took over the coaching

duties from Denis Savard on October 16.

The Blue Jackets will be without Jared Boll on Saturday after

the right wing received an automatic one-game suspension for

receiving an instigator penalty in the final five minutes of

Thursday's win. In addition, the NHL fined coach Ken Hitchcock

$10,000 as a result of Boll's actions.

Three UFA Goaltenders Coming Off Strong Seasons

Goaltending - like the knuckleball - is a capricious beast. If an NHL GM makes the right call on a UFA twine-minder, he could have it pay off substantially; if he makes the wrong call, his team could be toast. Here are three 2021 UFAs who had good seasons and may be the answer for NHL GMs in the 2021 off-season
