Norrena earns second straight shutout at Blue Jackets down Avalanche 3-0

Norrena stopped 42 shots, including 21 in the second period. Norrena made 21 saves in a 4-0 win over Edmonton on Saturday night. Fredrik Modin scored with 4.3 seconds left in the second period. Jason Chimera and Anson Carter staked Columbus to an early lead with goals within a span of 2:38 in the first.

Peter Budaj stopped 18 shots. He shut out the Blue Jackets when he faced them Nov. 17, stopping 25 shots in a 3-0 win.

The Blue Jackets entered the game with a 1-19-1-1 mark all-time against the Avalanche, their lone win being a 5-4 overtime victory in Columbus on Feb. 28, 2004. They had never won at the Pepsi Center in 10 tries.

The game was Colorado's 1,000th since moving to Denver in 1995-'96.
