Osgood hopes to continue road success against Panthers

SUNRISE, Florida (Ticker) -- Detroit Red Wings goaltender Chris

Osgood has been red-hot on the road. A visit to the Florida

Panthers should not stop his success.

Osgood hopes to be in goal against the Panthers on Friday when

the Red Wings look to claim back-to-back wins.

The 35-year-old netminder made 15 saves and Detroit scored three

times in the third period to escape with a 4-3 victory against

the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday. With the win, Osgood

improved to 4-0-1 away from home in the new campaign, posting a

2.94 goals-against average over that span.

Osgood should be able to build on that performance against

Florida. He owns a 13-1-1 record with five ties and a 2.20 GAA

in 20 career starts against the Panthers, who rank second to

last in the NHL with 35 goals.

Despite struggling to find the back of the net, Florida enters

the game on a winning streak. Craig Anderson made 44 saves en

route to a 3-1 victory over the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday, helping

Florida end a 0-5-1 slide.

Anderson, who is 3-1-1 with a 1.85 GAA, followed that

performance with his first shutout of the season and fifth of

his career on Wednesday, stopping 24 shots during a 4-0 win over

the Tampa Bay Lightning.
