TORONTO (Ticker) -- Games outside the nation's capital have not

gone well for the Washington Capitals.

Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals will attempt to avoid their fifth

consecutive road loss when they visit the Toronto Maple Leafs on

Saturday.

Thanks to its stellar play at the Verizon Center, Washington has

found its way to the top of the Southeast Division. But the

Capitals own a 4-8-2 record away from home, and will need to

improve on that mark to become one of the NHL's elite clubs.

Ovechkin scored a goal and set up two others Thursday as the

Capitals posted a 5-2 victory over the New York Islanders.

Washington did receive a scare from the superstar when he left

the game in the first period with an undisclosed injury.

The 23-year-old Russian returned at the start of the middle

session, but was in obvious discomfort after receiving a

glancing hit from Tim Jackman. Ovechkin was favoring his left

arm when he skated towards the bench.

The Maple Leafs haven't managed to win often anywhere, posting a

4-4-4 record on home ice.

Toronto is looking to avoid a third straight loss after

suffering a 6-3 setback to the Phoenix Coyotes on Thursday.
