PHILADELPHIA - The Flyers loaded up on prospects a day after staying quiet at the NHL trade deadline.

Philadelphia signed signed Eric Wellwood, Luke Pither and Shane Harper to future contracts, which will begin at the start of next season, the club announced Thursday.

Wellwood, 19, has 31 goals and 34 assists in 61 games with the Ontario Hockey League's Windsor Spitfires. Last season he helped lead the Spitfires to the OHL Championship, then had a goal and three assists in six games to help Windsor win the 2009 Memorial Cup.

The Oldcastle, Ont., native was selected by the Flyers in the sixth round (172nd overall) in last year's draft.

Pither has a team-leading 87 points (34 goals, 53 assists) in 61 games this season, his first with the OHL's Barrie Colts. The 20-year-old native of Oshawa, Ont., has registered 102 goals and 141 assists over parts of five seasons in the OHL.

Harper has 39 goals and 35 assists in 66 games in his fifth season with the Western Hockey League's Everett Silvertips. The California native leads the team in goals.
