Phoenix Coyotes re-sign defenceman Brendan Bell to one-year deal

Bell, 24, had a goal and six assists in 45 games with Phoenix and Toronto last season. The Coyotes acquired him from Toronto along with a second-round pick for Yanic Perreault and a fifth-round draft pick at the trade deadline.

Bell was selected by Toronto in the third round (65th overall) of the 2001 NHL entry draft.
