Pittsburgh Penguins recall forward Janne Pesonen from AHL farm club

Publish date:

PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Penguins recalled forward Janne Pesonen from their Wilkes-Barre/Scranton farm club for Friday night's game in Buffalo.

Penguins centre Max Talbot has an injured left foot, so Pesonen was brought up for the second time this month to fill a roster spot. Pesonen made his NHL debut Nov. 1 in St. Louis, but did not score.

Pesonen, from Finland, has five goals and 16 assists in 19 games at Wilkes-Barre, Pittsburgh's AHL farm club.

He had 78 points in 56 games last season in the Finnish Elite League.
