Ponikarovsky hurt in practice; Leafs take Ondrus and Suglobov to Chicago

The left-winger is unlikely to be available for a game in Chicago on Friday night.

Kyle Wellwood didn't practice because he has a groin injury but the forward went to Chicago with his teammates, although it is uncertain that he'll play.

Ben Ondrus and Alex Suglobov were recalled from the AHL's Toronto Marlies to be available against the Blackhawks.

Ponikarovsky had 24 points including 11 goals in 35 games. Wellwood is tied for the team points lead with 31 including nine goals.

Ondrus has four goals in 12 AHL games. Suglobov, who had been assigned to the Marlies on Wednesday, has appeared in nine NHL games this season without getting a point.
