Power to the people

I'd like to suggest that another position be added to the NHL head office. This would be the position of executive "fan."

Every club in the NHL has a booster club and those booster clubs have a president. My suggestion is that of these 30 booster club presidents, one is elected to represent the common fan.

As fans of this wonderful game, we should have a say on what certain rules should be added and/or changed to make the game more exciting.

After all, who are the ones forking out $100 for nosebleed tickets?

Imagine if the executive "fan" had the final vote on whether to keep or get rid of the shootout?

It would give the fans of the game a bit more power on how their hard-earned money will go to work at NHL rinks.
