Report card for Game 4 of the Stanley Cup final

PHILADELPHIA - Report card on the Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup final (with grades out of 10):

Chicago Blackhawks

Goaltender

Antti Niemi: Beaten on three of the first eight shots but made two big saves in the second to keep his team in the game. 6.

Defencemen

Duncan Keith: Logged the most ice time, made crisp passes out of zone and had three assists. 7.

Niklas Hjalmarsson: Had pocket picked on the first goal and lost the puck on the second. 4.

Brent Sopel: On ice for all three first-period goals. 4.

Nick Boynton: Added to lineup for physical play and did that job. 5.

Brent Seabrook: Played his usual physical game but nothing more. 5.

Brian Campbell: Made some fine rushes, did his best to create offence, and finally scored. 6.

Forwards

Jonathan Toews: Dominated faceoff circle, but looked a step behind his usual energetic self. Went hard to the net on Campbell's goal. 5.

Patrick Kane: Used his fine stickhandling to get off some of his team's few decent shots but wound up minus-4. 5.

Dustin Byfuglien: A disaster game. Everything he touched went wrong. 2.

Patrick Sharp: Scored in first, got his shot to the net often. 6.

Marian Hossa: Not quite his Game 3 presence, but still battled hard and used his size effectively. 6.

Troy Bouwer: Bumped to fourth line, won faceoffs and checked well. 5.

Dave Bolland: Mauled on faceoffs, but skated hard and got Chicago's first power-play goal of the series. 5.

Kris Versteeg: Mostly invisible and had Philly's fourth goal go in off his back. 4.

Tomas Kopecky: Moved up to the third line and had some good shifts, but no finish. 5.

John Madden: Won his faceoffs and skated hard on fourth line. 5.

Ben Eager: Not much ice time and was minus-1. 4.

Andrew Ladd: Played for the first time in the series due to injury and was used a lot. Helped to crowd the crease on Campbell's goal. 5.

Philadelphia Flyers

Goaltender

Michael Leighton: Looked vulnerable in the third after facing few chances in the first two periods. 5.

Defenceman

Lucas Krajicek: Used sparingly, did little of note. 5.

Oskars Bartulis: Used even less, but had some bright moments moving puck early on. 5.

Braydon Coburn: Was the goat on Chicago's first goal after his clearing attempt was stopped and the puck went in off his stick. 5.

Chris Pronger: Another monster game at both ends; cut off Toews' line. 9.

Matt Carle: Pronger's sidekick took the body, moved the puck well and made an alert pinch to score. 7.

Kimmo Timonen: Made nifty pass to Giroux for third goal and had bad luck as Campbell's goal went in off his skate. 6.

Forwards

Mike Richards: Got first goal of the series on second effort, went hard to the net. 6.

Jeff Carter: Taken off power play and didn't have any good chances until his hustle resulted in the empty-net goal. 5.

Simon Gagne: Slowed considerably since scoring outburst after return from foot injury. Barely noticeable. 4.

Daniel Briere: Much quieter than in Game 3, had few chances. 5.

Ville Leino: Looked to be hurt and slowed down after Campbell hit in first, but still got game-winner. 5.

Scott Hartnell: Skated hard and threw some big checks. 6.

Claude Giroux: Smart play to get unchecked on third goal. 6.

James van Riemsdyk: Back in the lineup, made some plays, got an assist. 5.

Arron Asham: Played a strong grinding game on the wing and was plus-2. 6.

Blair Betts: Uncharacteristically lost many faceoffs and was minus-1. 4.

Darroll Powe: Got moved to Briere's line when Leino was briefly out, thorough checking game. 6.

Ian Laperriere: Dished out his usual hits with limited ice time. 5.
